Why am I having trouble booking tickets?

Our website is best viewed with the following browsers:

Google Chrome version 18 or later
Mozilla Firefox version 12.0 or later
Apple Safari version 5.1.5 or later
Internet Explorer 9
Note: Internet Explorer 9 only operates with Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

What if I don’t want to use one of the recommended browsers or I am prevented from downloading them at work?

Internet Explorer 8  – you will need a plugin to get the best possible experience when selecting your own seat. You can get the plugin here. Internet Explorer 6 and 7 – these are not supported and we do not recommend using these older Internet browsers for making credit card transactions as they are no longer safe for online purchases iPad with IOS 5 using Safari – some functions will work better with the iPad2 or later. Android 3.0 Honeycomb or later – your experience of the website will depend on the specification of the Android tablet

Can I buy tickets using my mobile?

The website is not designed for use with mobile phones. You can buy tickets using the Royal Opera House iPhone app and we will be launching a mobile version of the website in the future.

I can’t see My ROH, how do I manage my account?

Once you have signed in you can manage your account by selecting your name at the top of any page.

Why does the website not accept my email address when I try to register?

Your email may already be registered. Please select ‘Sign in’ and enter your email address and password.

I cannot sign in or I have forgotten my password.

Select ‘Sign in’ at the top of each page on the website and choose ‘Forgot your password?’, then follow the on screen steps. If you receive a message to say ‘The account was not found’ please select ‘Register’ instead to create an account.

Why do I need to give my date of birth when registering?

There are three reasons. Firstly, we would like to make sure we follow best practice in data protection and do not send marketing material to anyone under 16 years of age. Secondly, to measure that we are attracting a representative audience in terms of age, in line with our public subsidy. Finally, to help us find your record in the event of a forgotten login or changed email address.

I have been sent an offer but I can’t access it.

To access offers associated with a membership level or mailing list, please ‘sign in’ to the website before you search for or choose your tickets.

I encountered an error/problem with payment when purchasing tickets, what should I do?

Does the Royal Opera House sell vouchers?

The Royal Opera House offer Gift Certificates which can be purchased and redeemed online, by telephone or in person at the box office and are valid indefinitely.

My Gift Certificate was not redeemed against my order, what can I do?

I have completed a booking online, when should I receive an email booking confirmation?

At busy times the final email confirmation can take up to 3 hours to arrive. If you see the ‘Order Placed’ page after purchasing your tickets you should receive a final email confirmation. If you have not received a final email confirmation after 24 hours of placing your order please contact the Box Office on +44 (0)20 7304 4000 or e-mail: onlinebooking@roh.org.uk

How do I remove stored credit card details from your website?

Sign in to your account and proceed to the check out screen on which you can remove previously saved payment card details.

How do I clear cookies related to the Royal Opera House web site?
