Support The Royal Ballet by giving to the Pointe Shoe Appeal.
Dancers of The Royal Ballet begin their day early in the studios for classes and end the day late on the magnificent Royal Opera House stage. A dancer like Isabella Gasparini, soloist of The Royal Ballet, uses a new pair of pointe shoes every day. She has around fifty to a hundred pairs of shoes in her shoe box at any time to support her through rehearsals and performances. Isabella Gasparini once again takes on the role of Clara in The Nutcracker and will make her debut as the Fairy of the Enchanted Garden in The Sleeping Beauty.
Fairy roles have always held a special place in the repertory. Having the right pair of shoes for each performance is very important, providing confidence, security and balance.
