Biography

Spanish tenor Xabier Anduaga opened his 2023/24 Season with a role debut as Duca (Rigoletto) for Teatro Real, Madrid followed by house debuts as Ernesto (Don Pasquale) for Vienna State Opera and Percy (Anna Bolena) for Deutsche Oper Berlin. Upcoming engagements include Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) for Bayerische Staatsoper and Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore) for Vienna State Opera, followed by returns to Bayerische Staatsoper, Liceu, Barcelona, Teatro Real, Madrid, Vienna State Opera and Amigos Canarios de la Opera, Les Palmas. Recent engagements include Nemorino for the Metropolitan Opera, Ferrando (Così fan tutte) and Arturo (I puritani) for ABAO Bilbao Opera, Elvino (La sonnambula) for Teatro Real, Madrid and Arturo for Teatro di San Carlo, Naples. He has worked with conductors including Enrique Mazzola, Evelino Pidò, Myung-Wwhun Chung, Josep Pons, Giacomo Sagripanti, Daniel Harding, Antonio Fogliani and Antonio Pappano. Anduaga made his Royal Opera debut in 2024 with Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor).
