Biography

From Australia, Siobhan Stagg studied at the University of Melbourne and the Wales International Academy of Voice in Cardiff and was a member of the young artists’ programmes at Salzburg Festival and Deutsche Oper Berlin. Recent opera highlights include Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) at Staatsoper Berlin, Pamina (The Magic Flute) and the soprano role in a new staged production of Bach’s St. Matthew Passion at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Eritrea (Eliogabalo) in a new production at Zurich Opera. In concert in the 2022/23 Season, Stagg appeared as soloist in Ravel’s Shéhérazade with Bayerische Rundfunk and Orchestre Radio France; Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln with Wiener Symphoniker; Berg’s Seven Early Songs with Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra; Das Paradies und die Peri with Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne and Netherlands Radio Orchestra; Strauss’ Four Last Songs with Melbourne Symphony; Debussy’s Ariettes oubliées with Sydney Symphony and Mozart’s Requiem with The Cleveland Orchestra.
