Biography

Luca Micheletti is an Italian actor, theatre and opera director and baritone. He studied literature and theatre in Milan and Venice and has a PhD in Renaissance theatre from La Sapienza University in Rome. He began his career as an actor, working regularly with I Guitti theatre company and elsewhere throughout Italy. Prizes include the Ubu Award and the Luigi Pirandello International Award. Opera appearances include Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro (Teatro alla Scala, Milan; Maggio Musicale, Florence), Don Giovanni (Opera Australia), Macbeth (Tokyo Bunka Kaikan under Muti), Rigoletto (Maggio Musicale, Arena di Verona), Count di Luna (La Fenice), Escamillo (Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Ravenna, Verona, Rome Opera), Enrico in Il campanello (Cagliari), Iago (Ravenna Festival), Marcello (Rome) and Count Almaviva, again with Muti. Plans include appearances at Teatro alla Scala and elsewhere worldwide. He made his ROH debut in the 2022/23 Season as Don Giovanni.
