Biography

Born in London, tenor Jonah Halton is currently completing his opera studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, under the mentorship of Amanda Roocroft. Recent roles there include Il Principe Aprile in La bella dormente nel bosco, Father Rentería in A Star Next to the Moon, Roberto Leicester in Maria Stuarda, Peter Quint in The Turn of the Screw, Steva in Jenůfa and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni (GSMD Opera Scenes). His professional work includes La donna del lago for Buxton International Festival, cover Lensky in Eugene Onegin for West Green House Opera and Pásek in The Cunning Little Vixen at the Barbican and Philharmonie de Paris, with the London Symphony Orchestra and under Simon Rattle. Future engagements include Oronte in Alcina at GSMD and Don Pelagio in La Canterina for the Buxton International Festival.
