Jon Nicholls

Jon Nicholls is a composer and sound designer working across live performance, audio drama and contemporary opera, with a particular interest in the co-habitation of acoustic instruments with immersive soundscapes and electronic textures. Recent work includes Missy Mazzoli’s Breaking The Waves (Scottish Opera / Edinburgh International Festival), Hamlet (Royal Shakespeare Company / Washington DC), Spring Storm, Beyond The Horizon, The Holy Rosenbergs, My Brilliant Friend (National Theatre), Touching The Void, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin (West End). He has collaborated on over sixty audio dramas for the BBC and Audible and won the 2022 BBC Audio Drama Award for Best Sound Design.
