Huw Montague Rendall

Baritone

Biography

A British baritone, Huw Montague Rendall trained at the Royal College of Music and is a former Jerwood Young Artist (Glyndebourne Festival Opera) and a former member of the Young Artist Programme at the Salzburg Festspiele. Recent roles include Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) at the Glyndebourne Festival, Pelléas (Pelléas et Mélisande) at Opera de Rouen Normandie, Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) with Glyndebourne on Tour, Count Almaviva (Le nozze fi Figaro) at Opéra National de Lorraine; Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos) at the Festival d' Aix-en-Provence and Theatre des Champs-Elysées; Schaunard (La bohème) at Opernhaus Zurich; Marcello (La bohème) at Komische Oper, and Prince of Mantua (Fantasia) at Garsington Opera. Future plans include the title role in Le lacrime di Eros at the Dutch National Opera and a return to Glyndebourne Festival. Rendall made his Royal Opera debut in the 2021/22 Season as Papageno (The Magic Flute).
