Biography

Armenian baritone Grisha Martirosyan joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2023/24 Season. He is a graduate of the Yerevan State Conservatory where roles included the title role of Eugene Onegin, Belcore (L’elisir d’amore), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Germont (La traviata) and Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor). He spent a term at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on the Erasmus Exchange+ programme and is a graduate of the Mascarade Emerging Artists Programme. In 2022, he was awarded the First, Audience and Joan Sutherland prize at the Veronica Dunne International Singing competition and in 2019, he won the First Prize at the Gohar Gasparian Armenian National Singing Competition. His 2023/24 Royal Opera roles include Marullo (Rigoletto) and Angelotti (Tosca).
