Biography

American-Guatemalan soprano Andrea Carroll trained at the Manhattan School of Music before joining the Young Artist Program at Glimmerglass Opera and spending two years on the Young Artist Program at Houston Grand Opera. She was winner of the 2012 Eleanor McCollum Competition, a finalist in Operalia 2015 and a 2018 recipient of the Richard Tucker Career Grant. Her 2022/23 Season highlights included house debuts as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) for the Metropolitan Opera, Michaëla (Carmen) for Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) for Canadian Opera Company, and a return to Palm Beach Opera for Nannetta (Falstaff). 2023/24 Season highlights include Norina (Don Pasquale) for Vienna State Opera and La Scala, Milan, Nanetta for Houston Grand Opera and Woglinde (Das Rheingold) for Milan. She makes her Royal Opera debut in the 2023/24 season as Musetta (La bohème).
