Biography

Baritone Andrè Schuen has performed at the Royal Opera House, Bayerische Staatsoper, Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real, Madrid and the Aix-en-Provence, Lucerne and Salzburg festivals, among others. His 2023/24 Season engagements include the title role of Schwanda the Bagpiper for Theatre an der Wien, Wolfram (Tannhäuser) for Bayerische Staatsoper and a return to the Royal Opera House for Guglielmo (Così fan tutte). Concert engagements include Brahms’ German Requiem with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s and Bernard Labadie and with the WDR Symphony Orchestra; Kindertotenlieder with the Orquestra Sinfónica de Galicia; Des Knaben Wunderhorn on tour with the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana; and lied performances alongside Daniel Heide at venues including the Wiener Musikverein, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Teatro della Zarzuela and Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg and Hohenems. Since 2021, Schuen has been an exclusive recording artist for Deutsche Grammophon, releasing the Opus Klassik award-winning Schwanengesang in 2022.
