Biography

Born in Mongolia, he began his professional career as a Principal Soloist at the State Academic Opera House of Mongolia, going on to win prizes at Operalia, BBC Cardiff Competition, Queen Sonja Competition and the International Tchaikovsky Competition (St Petersburg). He is a Graduate of the State University of the Arts, and an Honoured Artist of Mongolia. His engagements have included the roles of Rigoletto (Parma, Macerata, Geneva), Macbeth, Amonasro in Aida (Teatro alla Scala), Nabucco (Vienna, Padova), Il Conte di Luna in Il trovatore, Giorgio Germont in La traviata, Scarpia in Tosca (Teatro San Carlo), La forza del destino (Teatro del Maggio), Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci (Arena di Verona).  Other recent and future performances include: Renato (Un ballo in maschera) in Parma, Nabucco (Vienna State Opera and Deutsche Oper Berlin), Amonasro (Aida) at the Hamburg Staatsoper, and Rigoletto (La Scala) directed by Mario Martone.
