It is with great pleasure that the Royal Opera House appoints Sir Simon Robey as Honorary Vice-President in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the Royal Opera House over many decades.

Sir Simon joined the Board of Trustees of the Royal Opera House on 1 July 2006, and was Chair until 2017, bringing wisdom and resolve to the role, establishing the vision for the Royal Opera House's award-winning Open Up renovation project and embedding its values of openness and accessibility across the organisation.

It is in recognition of this exceptional work over many years, as well as his steadfast determination to securing the future of the organisation, that he joins Dame Vivien Duffield and Lord Sainsbury in the role, which is effective immediately.
