Over the second weekend in September, tours will be running between 10:15am and 3:15pm, exploring the ways in which the historic and contemporary connect seamlessly in one of the city’s most iconic theatres. Each one lasts 30 minutes and, though free, must be booked.

These will be paired with a never-before-offered experience in the Royal Opera House’s Linbury Theatre. For the first time ever, visitors will be able to step onto stage, experiencing the site as performers rather than audience members. The event runs from 10am to 6pm on both days. Admittance cannot be guaranteed and is dependent on maximum capacity.

Over the weekend, visitors are also welcome to explore the Royal Opera House’s Front-of-House spaces, marvel at David Hockey’s Portrait of Sir David Webster, and make use of exclusive discounts in the Shop (10%, if ‘Open House’ is quoted at the till) and Café (20%). Future tours can be booked for just £10 if tickets are purchased in person on Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 September 2022
