Tickets are free and the programme for the hour-long recital will feature Saint-Saëns' Christmas Oratorio and Poulenc's Four Christmas Motets. The singers will be accompanied by a string quartet featuring harp and double bass, played by members of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. Assistant Chorus Master Genevieve Ellis will direct the performance from the chamber organ.
‘This varied programme will showcase the Chorus as soloists in small ensembles', says tenor Andrew H. Sinclair, the member of the Chorus who has organized the recital. 'They will sing with and without accompaniment and the event is also a wonderful opportunity for Orchestra members to play and accompany as a chamber group’.
A small number of Lunchtime Recital tickets are available online but many more tickets are available on the day. Call the Box Office on +44(0)20 7304 4000 for more information.
