Ian Taylor steps down as Chair of Royal Opera House

Ian Taylor has stepped down as chair of the Royal Opera House due to ill health.

Ian Taylor has stepped down as chair of the Royal Opera House due to ill health. 

Under Ian’s chairmanship, the Royal Opera House concluded its Open Up project, transforming the building with inviting new entrances, extended foyers as well a world class new Linbury Theatre. More than 1 million people visited the Royal Opera House last Season, a record in its history, either as ticket buyers, participants in an extensive range of free and ticketed events or as daytime visitors. He led the Board with great vision and extraordinary business acumen during his term.

The Board has appointed Lady Heywood, currently Deputy Chair, as Acting Chair and the process for the selection of a Chair will commence in the New Year.
