With great regret, British conductor Christian Curnyn has had to withdraw from conducting Orfeo with The Royal Opera at the Roundhouse due to personal and family reasons.

British conductor Christopher Moulds will now conduct all performances.

Christopher Moulds also conducts Monteverdi’s Orfeo for the Bavarian State Opera in July 2015 and has previously conducted the work for Opera North. He recently conducted La finta giardiniera for Glyndebourne on Tour and Die Zauberflöte at the Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow. Previous performances include Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea for Theater an der WienDido and Aeneas at Berlin State Opera and La clemenza di Tito with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Salzburg Festival, as well as a new production of Telemann’s Der geduldige Socrates in Zürich. Plans this season include Semele with the Canadian Opera Company at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York and Il re pastore with Zürich Opera.

Christian Curnyn will return to work with The Royal Opera later in the Season when he will conduct performances of L’Ormindo at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse at Shakespeare’s Globe.
