Sorry that Sarah Lamb is unwell. I saw her on opening night and was much moved by her ethereal performance. But what a treat to get an early bonus performance from the developing partnership of Nunez and Muntagirov! She is as stunning as ever; he is simply sensational: impeccable technique and enormous jumps lifted to even greater heights by a near-perfect interpretation of the role, where aristocratic arrogance shatters convincingly to heartfelt remorse. Swoon!

I must also put in a word for Cuthbertson and Bonelli who performed at yesterday's (17 March) matinee. I think she was the most moving Giselle I have ever seen (of 00s including Lamb in this run and Osipova when she made it....) and he was an attentive, handsome and wonderful partner. Their acting was excellent , and they were both immersed in their characters. The whole company was dancing beautifully including perfectly in unison when required. The orchestra played exceptionally yesterday too (glorious solos from violin and viola) -altogether a really superb afternoon.
