Total Opera Package

A choice of five packages gives you the chance to see all of The Royal Opera productions in the Spring Season, including David McVicar’s lavish production of Gounod’s Faustwhich features an all-star cast of Anna Netrebko, Joseph Calleja, Bryn Terfel and Simon Keenlyside; Claus Guth’s new production of Richard Strauss’s dark fairytale Die Frau ohne Schatten; and Robert Carsen’s intense and daring production of Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites.

Verdi’s ever-popular La traviata and Puccini’s passionate Tosca are also included.

Total Ballet Package

There are five packages on offer to allow you to enjoy both Royal Ballet productions in the Spring Season: the world premiere of Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale, a new full-length work based on Shakespeare’s late great romance; and The Sleeping Beauty, a true classic of The Royal Ballet's repertory.

Mini Packages

A choice of nine mini packages enables you to choose a selection of operas and/or ballets on set dates.

Family Packages

Let the whole family experience the enchanted world of The Sleeping Beauty with a Family Package. Ideal for a family treat, the packages offer two adult tickets and up to four under-18s tickets.

Please note: Unfortunately packages are not yet available to book online. This is something we hope to introduce later in the Season. To book, you can call the Box Office on +44 (0)20 7304 4000.

  1. In the past it was possible to book these packages on line. Is there any hope that this facility will be restored in the future?

    • Ellen West (Head of Creative Studios and Digital Products) responded on 26 November 2013 at 3:54pm

      Hi Ann

We will indeed be reintroducing the ability to book packages online, but this is currently in a queue behind other pieces of development. As soon as the facility is restored we will flag this on the website.

      Best wishes

It might be useful to allow customers to choose their own packages in future - I can never quite get a mini package that reflects my preferences for booking across opera and ballet. For instance there is nothing covering Die Frau ohne Schatten and any ballet, plus the 3 packages with Die Frau are essentially exactly the same!. Could we have a 'book any 3 or 4 or 5 productions and get a percentage off' rather than just pre-selected packages?

I totally agree with both of the above postings, especially concerning self selection of packages.

Surely the trade-off for the discount on the package is the fact that one is limited in the choice of dates. Attractive as it might sound, I don't quite see how a completely free choice of package could work in practice as.most opera/ballet goers buy tickets for several productions anyway so any discount would end up with seat prices needing to be being increased. It does not appear that ROH has any real need to bulk sell seats . .

'Self-build' packages do not seem to be a problem for WNO and ENO - the relevant discount is simply applied at the checkout when booking.

    • Chris Shipman (Head of Brand Engagement and Social Media) responded on 2 December 2013 at 4:27pm

      Hi James,

We use a different system to WNO and ENO and so this functionality requires development. We're also hoping to add a greater amount of functionality when this is added.

Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.

The Opera House should get as much money in advance as possible, helps with the cash flow.In Zurich you can book 11 month in advance. Many packages are on sale. First nights only( 16 new productions) Verdi P. Mozart P. Sat.P Sun P. Matinee P. etc etc.

Such a pity that so many people cannot take advantage of packages as not enough matinees to make it possible .... Some of us live out of town on pensions !

It would be wonderful if you offered packages aimed at visitors from afar - 3 performances on consecutive days (or as near as could be) - the way that the Met does.

This would be very attractive for us foreigners and possibly even for folk from the regions, I would think. Worth a try?

    • Amy Shepheard (Former Assistant Content Producer (News and Social Media)) responded on 3 January 2014 at 11:03am

      Dear Phil,

I’m sorry that you are not always able to find the exact combination of performance dates and productions that you want to see - due to programming it’s not always possible to include three different productions on consecutive dates. However, we do our best to give you a variety to choose from and I’ve taken note of what you’ve suggested for future offers. We are currently in the process of updating the packages, and when we introduce flexible package booking online you will be able to select exactly what you want to see on the dates you want to see them.

      All the best,

Amy Shepheard, Assistant to the Director of Marketing
