Friends of Covent Garden
Becoming a Friend of Covent Garden is the best way to keep up with news and events at the Royal Opera House, as well as membership making an ideal gift for an arts-loving friend or family member.
If you purchase a Gift Membership online, you will be emailed a gift certificate for the recipient to redeem online or by telephone. For assistance, please telephone the Friends' Office on +44 (0)20 7212 9268.
Friends' membership subscriptions and donations help with everything we do, including new productions and revivals by The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, the behind-the-scenes work of skilled craftspeople, and a wide range of education and access initiatives, introducing people of all ages to the magical world of live opera and ballet.

All Friends receive:
- Advance information and backstage news sent four times a year in About the House, the magazine of The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera
- Priority booking for all performances and events offered online and by telephone. Friends may usually apply for two tickets per production, although it is often possible to purchase more. Ticket limits are always clearly stated in the booking information sent with About the House.
- Special Friends events and the opportunity to apply for tickets to some open rehearsals. Please note that the majority of tickets available for dress rehearsals are located in the upper part of the theatre.
- Personalised Membership card
Joint Friends
All the benefits of the Friends with the possibility to apply for two rehearsal tickets (again, please note that the majority of tickets available for dress rehearsals are located in the upper part of the theatre). You will receive one copy of each Friends mailing and one membership card.

Additional priority booking ahead of the Friends, offered online and by telephone, plus an invitation to attend our Season preview talk and a personal acknowledgement on the Royal Opera House website. Supporting Friends can book two rehearsal tickets at the same time as Joint and Standard Friends.
JOIN/RENEWPremium 1 Friend
This membership level provides enhanced priority booking online, by telephone, and by post for all performances and events. Premium Friends are able to apply for two tickets per performance but can often purchase up to 9 tickets per performance. Please note that ticket limits sometimes apply.
As a Premium Friend you will receive all of the above benefits together with an invitation to the annual season preview and an additional special event.
JOIN/RENEWPremium 2 Friend
This membership level provides enhanced priority booking. Premium Friends are able to apply for two tickets per performance but can often purchase up to 9 tickets per performance. Please note that ticket limits sometimes apply. There may be a limit for certain productions.
As a Premium Friend you will receive all of the above benefits together with an invitation to the annual season preview and an additional special event.
JOIN/RENEWYoung Friend - Royal Opera House Insider
If you’re aged 16-30 and want to discover more about what is offered on stage and behind the scenes at the Royal Opera House, then become an Insider. The membership offers the advantages of priority booking, backstage news, access to insight events, and invitations to five exclusive Young Friends events across the Season, including a backstage tour. You will be required to provide proof of age.
