Given the rapidly developing situation with regards to the COVID-19 virus, and further advice from the Government in recent days, we would like to advise customers that while tours will proceed as normal, we will not be able to take visitors into backstage areas of the building until further notice. The tours will still showcase other aspects of the Royal Opera House's beautiful building, and you will be given the opportunity to learn some little-known facts about us, as well as gain an insight into how we make costumes, sets and props, together with an overview of the stagecraft that underlies everything we do here at the Royal Opera House.
Please note: Tours vary according to what is available on the day. Access to the main auditorium is not guaranteed, and it is never possible to attend stage rehearsals. Please remember that you are visiting a working theatre and plans may change at short notice.
Children and young people are welcome on tours but must have their own ticket. Children aged 5–14 must be have an accompanying adult. Our suggested minimum age to visit on a tour due to its content and length is eight years and over.
Photography is not permitted.
