Royal Opera House
Tours

The Backstage Tours include an introduction to the colourful history of the theatre, an insight into the redevelopment of the Royal Opera House and a look at aspects of current productions. As the Royal Opera House is a fully working theatre, each tour is a unique experience, and may include opportunities to see The Royal Ballet in class, or the magnificent backstage technology in operation.

Please note: Tours vary according to what is available on the day

Access to the main auditorium is not guaranteed, and it is never possible to attend stage rehearsals. Please remember that you are visiting a working theatre and plans may change at short notice.

Children and young people are welcome on tours but must have their own ticket. Children aged 5–14 must be have an accompanying adult. Our suggested minimum age to visit on a tour due to its content and length is eight years and over.

Photography is not permitted.

Your tour ticket entitles you to 10% off at ROH Shop and café on the day of your tour. Simply present your ticket at the checkout. Why not buy a Royal Opera House gift certificate? The recipient can redeem the certificate against their Backstage Tour purchase. Enter the value of your choice on our gift certificate page
