Michelle Daly



Irish mezzo-soprano Michelle Daly made her Royal Opera debut in 2013 singing Ninetta (Les Vêpres siciliennes). Daly has also covered Anna (Les Troyens), Third Innocent (The Minotaur) and Third Nymph (Rusalka) for The Royal Opera. She returns in the 2017/18 Season to sing Ninetta.

Daly was born in Dublin and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has sung Hotel Guest and Beggar Woman in Death in Venice (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Feklusha (Kát'a Kabanová) and Cretan Woman (Idomeneo) for English National Opera, where she has also covered Madame Larina (Eugene Onegin), Third Lady (The Magic Flute) and Vlasta (The Passenger). Her other appearances include Dorabella (Lismore Festival), Cornelia in Giulio Cesare (Bloomsbury Festival), Polly Peachum (The Beggar’s Opera) with European Opera Centre and Mystery (Purcell’s The Fairy Queen) at Snape Maltings, where she appeared as a Britten-Pears Young Artist. She has also been a Wexford Festival Young Artist and has sung at the Buxton and Longborough festivals.

Daly is an active jazz singer and performs regularly in venues around London.
