Kseniia Nikolaieva

Biography

Ukrainian mezzo-soprano Kseniia Nikolaieva joined the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme at the start of the 2020/21 Season.

Nikolaieva began her piano training at the age of four. She trained at the Kherson Music School from the age of 14 and then the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, where she completed a bachelors degree in 2012 specializing in design and architecture and a masters degree in 2015. Since 2019 she has taught opera and chamber music at the Academy and gives frequent masterclasses to young singers.

In 2011 Nikolaieva became a soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre Young Artists Programme in St Petersburg. She participated in the Festival der jungen Stimmen Internationale OpernWerkstatt in 2019 and in 2019-2020, she became part of the National Opera Studio programme in London.

Nikolaieva’s repertory includes Hivria (Mussorgsky’s Sorochinska yarmarka), Marta (Iolanta), Olga (Eugene Onegin), Maddalena (Rigoletto) and Lubasha (Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar's bride).
