Biography

Lithuanian mezzo-soprano Gabrielė Kupšytė joined the Jette Parker Artists Programme in the 2022/23 Season. She is a graduate of the Mascarade Opera Studio in Florence and previously graduated with honours in Vocal Studies from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. She also holds an Advanced Diploma in Opera from the RAM, where she was a recipient of the Carr- Gregor Trust Scholarship and the Isabel Jay Memorial Prize for Singing. Previous roles include Laura in Iolanta (Royal Philharmonic Orchestra), Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (Lithuanian National Opera), the title role of La Cenerentola (New Generation Festival) and Véronique in Le docteur Miracle (L’Orchestre de Chamber de Genève). Her Royal Opera roles have included Kate Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), 2nd Lady (Die Zauberflöte), 2nd Nymph (Rusalka), Käthchen (Werther), Ines (Il trovatore), Flora Bervoix (La traviata) and the title role in the JPAP production of Arminio. Her 2023/24 Royal Opera roles include Kate Pinkerton and Third Maid (Elektra).
