A fleet - some might say brisk - #ROHzauberflote, with a very funny, immensely likeable, beautifully sung Papageno from Roderick Williams pic.twitter.com/23seTI2KtF

It's a great 'Show', Roderick Williams singing and acting are really great. I particularly enjoyed Mika Kares; not quite so excited about Peter Bronder.
I've never seen the opera realised with so much humour; the house was laughing its head off.
Congratulations!
Enjoyed it very much when I saw it on Thursday. It reminded me of how very weak the libretto is - if it weren't for the music, this work would have been forgotten by 1815 ! Once the Q of the Night's (I see Kobbé calls her 'the Queen of Night') voice matures a bit in 5-10 years she could be one of the greats! And she can act. Only qualification of any substance is that the vertical possibilities of the acting space (talking about blocked acting, not flying machinery) are little used, with an overall flattening effect. I can see why in that design, but...
Sabine absolutely stole the show. Musically she was awesome but the costume/ make up/ wig combo with her natural phsiognomy made her truely outstanding.
No glockenspiel/magic bells heard at the 7th October performance? What happened? Their absence made the whole performance disappointing.
Disappointed in the 5th October Queen of the Night - not very incisive. It's not enough simply to sing in tune and this Queen lacked any spirit
