The nights are drawing in and after Halloween and Bonfire Night, thoughts are turning to baubles and figgy puddings – Christmas is on the way, and with it Royal Ballet favourite The Nutcracker.
With preparations well underway at Covent Garden, audiences will be offered a glimpse into rehearsals as part of an ROH Insights event on 16 November 2017 at 7.30pm GMT, which will be streamed for free via Facebook Live. If you don't have a Facebook account, you can still watch on this page by clicking play on the video below after we go live.
The event will feature rehearsals of the famous Sugar Plum Fairy duet, as well as dancers being coached through the Rose Fairy solo and a closer look at the costumes.

Very enjoyable and a privilege to watch a rehearsal. However why so many close-ups which make us miss some movements?
I completely agree about the close-ups. Not only in this clip. It is an annoying action that is usually done in this clips, specially in the RB World Ballet Day Classes. We don't want to miss the whole dancers.
I had to sign up for a Facebook account to see this as it wouldn’t play otherwise.
Not a problem and would have done so if it didn’t say you could watch it without an account.
Missed the first 10 minutes due to the sign up and app download process.
It's simply wonderful that these Insights are now available online. Thank you!
