Just a polite FYI: in case you didn't realize it, you posted your address on a public forum for all to see. For your personal safety it is never a good idea to do that. You may want to delete your post if possible.
Hi Robyn,
Thank you for flagging this. The user's address has been removed from their post.

Disappointing that 3 out of 4 of the ballets have been screened before. Why no Onegin or some of the mixed programmes?
Dear Philip
Unfortunately we are unable to film Onegin due to rights restrictions - this is also the reason why the ballet has not been recorded for DVD. We have found that mixed programmes are a less attractive option for cinema audiences, although this does not mean that we won't try them again in future Seasons.
Best wishes
Ellen
Good afternoon, Please could you tell me if you will be screening the Maryinsky Ballet summer season as I am desperate to see them? Kind regards LSH.
Hi Louise,
We're afraid we're not relaying the Mariinsky performances. Details of relays from the company's St Petersburg theatre can be found at http://www.mariinskycinema.com/

Since l discovered your magnificent cinema viewings l am trying to attend all your screanings. I am a Yorkshire pensioner on a limited income wanting to see as many quality productions as l am able to .Correlating the information on your web site can prove confusing. A calender listing all performances and repeats would enable me to achieve my goal more readily.
Here I was all excited to see "A Winters Tale" here tonight but it appears that the local theater is not broadcasting this production to us as previously announced here in Cary, NC, USA - we did enjoy an exquisite "Giselle" and "The Sleeping Beauty" (also glorious) recently. Can you explain why this broadcast became unavailable? Thank you for sharing your great productions of Opera & Ballet with the world. Sally
Dear Sally
I am afraid that our US cinema distributor made the decision not to take The Winter's Tale as a relay. Sorry about the disappointment this has caused.
Best wishes
Ellen
I Am very sad that my observations were thought too bad to publish. BUT if you can view the film on a big screen you might possibly agree.
SO, even without a public viewing , please can the wardrobe department at least be advised to use fabric that does not show up every drop of perspiration of a very talented leading lady, or at least suggest that she uses one of the long lasting antiperspirants available.
I still don't see why the two kings could not have been provide with trousers. The rest of the costumes were a delight to see, but the shiny tights do not do well on the large screen
Hi Diana,
I've checked and your original comment was published, though it may have been delayed, such was the volume of comments coming through moderation.
We very much welcome all comments, including the constructively critical so please forgive the error, the delay wasn't at all to do with the content, rather the volume and the nature of a manual process.
Thanks,
Chris

Dear Diana
Have just seen your comment on the website. A clever camera director is the answer to you comments re perspiration etc. No amount of industrial strength antiperspirant could suppress the sweat that a theatre audience can't see, but a sensitive camera director can avoid shots that reveal too much! Food for thought
I am travelling to Los Angeles in June/July and I was wondering which movie theatres are showing the operas/ballets.
Thanks
Dear Elsa
You'll be able to check screenings on the cinema section of our website. Here's a search for LA:

Is La Boheme, 10 June, available in cinema in Los Angeles or Ventura County movie houses or any where else in Southern California? Thank you Please respond by email.
Hi Larry,
Unfortunately with the volume of comments we receive we're not able to email directly, but this relay is in June 2015 and therefore the details of cinemas in the US screening it haven't been confirmed.
Do keep an eye on http://www.roh.org.uk/cinema for details closer to the time.

Great program but it looks as if it will not reach us in the third world (South Africa)?
Dear Caro
We have only screen in one cinema in South Africa: The Fugard Theatre in Cape Town.
They have their own recorded programming as they do not take part in our live relays so listings inquiries are better sent directly to the venue. Here are their details:
The Fugard Theatre
Address: Caledon Street, Cnr of Harrington Street, District Six, Cape Town 8001, South Africa

I have been trying to find screenings from ROH in Southern California, but cannot find any even in the USA. Are there any cinemas here that will show these broadcasts?
Dear Sue,
I'm afraid that the remaining broadcast of our 13/14 Cinema Season, Manon Lescaut, will not be screened live in the USA, but we are hoping it will be shown at a later date. Our US distributor is currently in discussions, and we will notify via social media as soon as we have an update.
All the best,
Lottie
It seems that 'La clemenza di Tito' is not on your list, very disappointed to miss such a beautiful Mozart's opera with a very good cast , any reason for that?thanks all the best
Hi Marisa
We're not actually producing La clemenza di Tito in 2014/15.

Will you be screening Winter's Tale this year in Cinemas since it was cancelled last season?
Hi Michele
Do you mean in US cinemas? It went ahead in most territories.
There are currently only a couple of screenings coming up for The Winter's Tale (France and Australia), but I would expect that more will be added:

Yes, in US cinemas. I live in Michigan and it was not shown here or nearby in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The websites said maybe next season. I wish I could see this.

Is Kitchener really the only place near Toronto relaying performances?
btw the Met system works really well: one date for booking for the entire season for supporters, a few days later for the general public.
Hi Ilze,
You can see screening locations at http://www.roh.org.uk/search/screenings?location=Toronto%2C+ON%2C+Canada.
At present Kitchener is the only location near Toronto, but do check back closer to the performances as venues may be added.

Hi there,
Are the cinema viewings free? Or do we have to pay, and if so how much?
Also must I book a ticket? Or is it on a first come first serve basis? Particularly, I was interested in watching the Manon viewing at the Odeon Cinema Barnet.
Lastly, is this a live viewing with the dancers and the orchestra, or just the orchestra?
Many Thanks
Abbeygail C.M.
Hi Abbeygail,
Cinema ticket prices are set by the venue, so do contact them to book. The screenings are popular so we'd recommend booking in advance.
It's a live relay of all production elements (ie. both the dancers and orchestra are live).
Hope you enjoy the show

So happy that you are coming to Gibraltar tonight.....!!! Thank you!!
Good Morning. Manon was wonderful last night, but sadly the cinema was nearly empty. Is there a reason that the Lisbon, Portugal screenings are not shown on your map ? Having previously checked your site I assumed that cinemas in Lisbon would not be showing the screening (as I'm sure did many others) and only found out last minute through a friend.
Many Thanks
Hi Clare,
We do regularly add new cinemas but often this may not be until quite close to the performance, dependent on the distributor. We'll check with the distributor to check why this relay didn't appear.
Glad you enjoyed the performance.
Thanks,
Chris

Were there transmission problems last night for Manon? We were in the cinema in Selles sur Cher, in France, and there was no performance. All we got was blue screen with "HDMI no signal" They had to refund our tickets, everyone very disappointed. Was this Europe wide, France wide or just our local cinema? The manager said he tried ringing (I don't know who) for support but there was no answer. Thanks for a reply.
Hi Sandra,
Apologies for this. We've been told by our technical team that this was due to circumstances beyond our control - specifically storms in France affecting the transmission. The cinema manager would have spoken to our technical team.
I hope this doesn't deter you from future relays, which hopefully will be less affected by the weather.
Thanks
Chris

Manon was very beautiful last night. Too bad we didn't get to see all of it in Mass. We were watching the beginning scene and all of a sudden we were in the bedroom at the end of Act 1. We got to see all of the intermission though. The cinema was very pleasant and gave us free tickets. However, I think that your technical team needs to pay more attention. We lost 35 min of the perf. in the middle. That is not weather!
Thousand thanks for this greatful performance last night.
It was a feast for the eyes. And congratulation to your incredible ballet.
I look forward to the further performances.
Yours sincerely
Ingrid

I am a huge opera love, as well as a performer myself. I am trying to do a research project for completion of my MBA and I can not find any information about the history of Royal Opera House Live Cinema Seasons. I need to know things like when its started perhaps the costs, setbacks, audience demographic and attendance as well as expansion into the international market. The MET Simulcast in HD has an entire wikipedia page dedicated to this information but the only thing I can find when I search the ROH is current season schedules. Could you please advise me as to where I could find some or all of this information?
Thank you,
Megan

Thanks Ellen, I can't find anything in Quebec :-( Will you be partnering with another cinema to screen the performances?
Sorry to hear that Clare. I've asked the cinema team and will let you know what we hear back.

Ellen
Many thanks for that Ellen, very much appreciated :-) I hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards
Clare
Can you explain what happened to the live feed from ROH last night 27 Oct? I due Foscari failed to transmit to Solihull cineworld and everyone was sent home disappointed. They told us the problem was at your end. How many centres were affected? Such a shame, transmissions from the Met work fine, but not London it seems. Please may we at least have an explanation? Thanks.
Hi Susan,
Sorry to hear the performance was cancelled. We believe the issue was at the cinema in question affecting the localized equipment, rather than an issue from our end. Our technical team are in contact with Solihull Cineworld to ensure that this doesn't happen again.
I hope this doesn't deter you from attending future relays.
Thanks

Hi,
Just wondering if Tristan will be screened in cinemas? Came late to booking, so tickets now beyond ny price range. If not, are there plans to televise / broadcast / record for DVD? Nina Stemme is quite special...
Thanks
Sue
Hi Sue,
We're afraid Tristan won't be in cinemas and no DVD release is scheduled. You may have luck with day tickets though - we keep 67 back for the morning of each performance. They're at various prices and are available from Box Office from 10am on the day of performance.
Thanks

Will you be screening Don Quixote in the future? The live relays go down well at Cineworld Manchester, though we do seem to be having a few technical issues. Sorry about Tristan . Will just have to go to Longborough!
Hi Diane,
We're afraid Don Quixote isn't part of this current Live Cinema Season. Upcoming relays over the next couple of months include The Royal Opera's L'elisir d'amore and Andrea Chénier, and The Royal Ballet's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
You can find full details at http://www.roh.org.uk/cinema

Is there any chance to watch the ROH performances in Poland?
Thanks
Jola
Hi Jola,
At present we don't screen productions in Poland, though we're expanding all the time. Do check http://www.roh.org.uk/cinema again soon
Thanks
Chris
I hope you find a distributor in Poland soon and many Polish opera fans would have a possibility to watch the ROH performances in cinemas.
I saw "Manon Lescaut" in Kielce.
Are there any operas going to be shown in the US ? The distributors that used to show some, no longer do. I have been so disappointed. The last one shown here was Manon Lescaut in Aug 2014. Since then, there have been no operas from ROH. A couple ballets from ROH but no opera. Are there any distributors looking at this ? Live isn't necessary since there is the time difference, just show the recording !
Thanks,
Marie
I feel your pain Marie, Quebec has been abandoned too thanks to Cineplex dropping their screenings last year.
Hi Clare,
We do regularly add territories and distributors change, so it's worth checking back.

Please can you let me know if there will be a repeat of Swan Lake in the UK. My daughter would love to see it but is too young to stay up for the live performance! Thank you.
Hi Anna,
Yes, select UK cinemas will be screening 'Encore' repeats of the performance. If you search for the cinemas nearest you at http://www.roh.org.uk/showings/swan-lake-live-2015, if they're offering a second screening, this will appear.
Thanks,
Chris

Magnificent performance of swan lake but why does the Encore showing have to have the overlong intervals, backstage showing the nitty gritty and long interviews as time fillers. Also having commercials of other ballets is rather disconcerting. Surely if one buys the DVD you don't get all this in the middle of the ballet. You could give the audience the choice to watch these extras by showing them at the end. I had to rush away before the end to catch my train which completely spoilt this wonderful productio
I love the opportunity of seeing the Royal Ballet Live in cinema and have seen most performances. I dislike the intimate close ups that would not be part of the experience in the Royal Opera House. The screen audience are deprived of the view of the whole stage for long passages often missing the corps de ballet. Full head shots of sweaty faces and mimed expressions do not add to the experience. You seem to be doing more and more close ups. Yesterday's La Fille Mal Gardee was full of them. Please give us more authentic full stage views.
Excellent comment Joy, I want my experience to be exactly like I was in the theatre when the performance occurred.
Lovely La Boheme production seen at The Brunton, Musselburgh last night - but no subtitles. Is this ROH policy or something I should take up with the Brunton Theatre?
Dear Jane
There certainly should have been subtitles - thank you for letting us know, we will discuss with the cinema.

Sarah
Please could you let me know how I find what is showing in Los Angeles and at which cinemas. Thanks
Dear Jan,
If you input your post code into the search bar on our cinema website a map will appear showing you the cinemas screening our broadcasts. Here is the search I completed for Los Angeles - http://www.roh.org.uk/search/screenings?location=Los+Angeles%2C+CA%2C+USA
Each red marker is a cinema screening our broadcasts and by clicking on the markers you'll get more information such as the cinema's address, as well as screening times and dates.
Best wishes,
Sarah
I guess you never found another Canadian distributor? :-( There is never anything shown here in Quebec.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG, I tell a lie, Cineplex have seen sense and are screening you again, Yippee *happy dance*
NEVER AGAIN! The films are so poorly done! Not all dancers on stage shown. Entrances and exits not shown. Feet not shown, repeatedly. What is a ballet without the feet??? Irrelevent close-ups. Wayyyyy to many cuts.
