This July, Royal Opera House Thurrock will be hosting FUSED 2015: A festival of choruses and costume, here’s what’s coming up:

Don Giovanni BP Big Screen
On Friday 3 July, High House Production Park in Purfleet will host the free BP Big Screen live relay of Mozart’s Don Giovanni. The Royal Opera’s production, directed by Kasper Holten and with designs from Es Devlin, features an excellent cast, including Christopher Maltman as Don Giovanni, Dorothea Röschmann as Donna Elvira, Rolando Villazón as Don Ottavio, and Albina Shagimuratova as Donna Anna.

Enjoy an evening of free opera, with exclusive backstage films, competitions and the best performances relayed live to the big screen. Bring a picnic and share the experience with friends, family, and the tens of thousands of people also watching from across the UK.

For more information about this screening, visit the BP Big Screen Purfleet venue page.

All Change
On Thursday 9 and Friday 10 July at the Civic Hall in Grays, the Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus and RM19 Youth Singing Group join forces for the first time to present All Change. Inspired by the new Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Costume Centre, All Change combines chorus numbers from existing repertory with new imaginings of existing pieces, in an exploration of some of the timeless themes of opera.

For more information and to book tickets, visit the All Change production page.

Costume Party
An afternoon of free festival fun for the whole family on Saturday 11 July, with the chance to dress up in the Royal Opera House’s famous costumes, make your own outfits and accessories, meet the opera diva Carmen, watch the Firebird dance, and much more.

Events will take place from 12 noon across the High House Production Park site and will include activities with Kinetika, the High House Artists Studios, and The Backstage Centre. Refreshments will be available all day and there will be prizes awarded for the best selfies taken on the ‘virtual catwalk’ – participants can even gain their own Discover Arts Award. Wacky outfits welcome!

See directions to the High House Production Park in Purfleet.
