Kasper Holten's Royal Opera production of Mozart's Don Giovanni will be broadcast by BBC Four on 27 April 2014 at 7pm.
The production, which had its premiere earlier this Season, was acclaimed by audiences and critics alike and stars Mariusz Kwiecień, Alex Esposito and Malin Byström. It explores the creative, seductive and destructive nature of Don Giovanni as a character, using video projection to play with themes of reality and imagination. Mozart’s classic tragicomedy follows the tale of the charismatic but nefarious Don Giovanni. Irresistibly charming, he seduces a stream of women accompanied by his long-suffering servant Leporello. However, when he commits murder, his luck begins to change. Find out more about the character of Don Giovanni.
Don Giovanni will be broadcast on BBC Four by 7pm on Sunday 27 April 2014.

Most welcome news! It will be marvellous to see this fascinating production once again. Perhaps it will mark the beginning of further opera broadcasts from ROH on BBC ?
Following its Olivier award, it would be splendid to see Les Vepres Siciliennes.
