Would a person in New York be able to see these? Because I really would like to!
Hi Bella, the distribution of cinemas participating does change for each production, so the best source of information would be the Royal Opera House Cinema website. Glad to hear that you are excited by the programme.
Check out the Morgan Library schedule, they usually show ROH productions. Good luck.
Could you broadcast these performances in Canada too? I would really love to view some of them. Thanks in advance.
Just seen La Fille Mal Gardee in my local Cineworld at Crawley. What a magnificent performance ! Wonderful dancing by all , especially Stephen and Roberta , they are magical together.THANKYOU !
Thank you for La Fille Mal Gardee at the cinema. Exquisite performances and was a real treat to see at Bluewater last evening. Looking forward to future cinema productions. Thank you
Saw La Fille Mal Gardee last night. what an excellent evening. can we have more please.
Having seen Aieda, the opera, Romeo and Juliet, the ballet, Rigaletto the opera and last night La Fille de Mal Gardee, the ballet, all local to where I live, has made me a very happy Essex girl indeed. These productions are of the highest standard in the world with the artists in each giving performences second to none. Thank you R.O.H.for bringing culture within our reach, with our support may you long continue.
I am looking forward to The Nutcracker this December. I really hope it would be shown in Hong Kong or in any South East Asian country. And I am hoping it would be Nunez as the Sugar Plum Fairy.
It is more convenient for me to watch "the cinemas" at home with DVD/Blue-ray disc. I wish you to produce and market DVDs.
Thanks for your message. We do release DVDs and Blu-Ray as well as our cinema offering. The online shop is temporarily offline but will soon return meaning that it will once more be possible to buy them online.
Thanks,
Chris

Hello, I think what you guys are doing is amazing and very innovative, however I see there is not much in your current summer programme between now and end of August? Is this due to the season? or maybe the Olympics? I would have loved to have attended a big Screen event this summer.
thanks for your efforts
Christo
Hi Christo
We always shut for a few weeks over the summer and this year we are using this time to host an exhibition called The Olympic Journey. We have one Big Screen event left in this year's series, Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 on 16 July.
Best
Ellen
Hi. I was very sorry to miss the live screening of Metamorphosis: Titian -- could you tell me if it will be broadcast soon, or if there is any way of viewing it in full? Thank you.
Hi Sarri
I'm afraid that there are no plans to screen Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 in the near future.
Best
Ellen
Are there any plans to release Metamorphosis:Titian 2012 as a DVD? Perhaps along with the BBC's documentary Imagine and the short film with Anna Friel as bonus/extras? I am looking forward to the release of the standard edition of the book but would love to see and hear the ballets again.
Hi Judith
Unfortunately there are no plans to release Metamorphosis: Titian 2012 on DVD at the present time.
Best wishes
Ellen
No Ring Cycle in the cinema season? Would be a great thing to do, particularly since the tickets sold out so quickly. Here's hoping!
What a pity and an opportunity missed not to have featured in the ballet scheduling the double bill Il Ballo della Regina and that seminal work La Sylphide from last season as that in my estimation - and in a good many of the critics too - as near a perfect evening as you'll ever get this side of heaven in the terpsichorean arts!
We love the cinema viewings, a giant step for democracy but, and that's a big but, there's no Ring Cycle? Peter
Do you have a date in November for the screening of Les Troyens, as it is not showing up in my local cinema, list with the other screenings.
Much appreciate the live screenings.
Hi Julia,
We'll be releasing details of these very soon so keep an eye on our Cinema pages.
Thanks,
Chris

Why don't have this Cinema Season here in Brazil??
I would like to see all of them!!!!!
Sorry to see that Robert le Diable is missing on the list. Any chance that this will be recorded for future showing / DVD release?
We will be recording Robert le diable but do not believe that it will be shown on TV or in cinemas. No decision has yet been made on whether the production will be released on DVD.
Is there a possibility that you will be showing your productions in France this season? Preferably Toulouse or Foix. I have several friends both French and English who would absolutely love to be able to see the cinema viewings of your productions. I saw La Fille Mal Gardee at Kent University when I was in UK earlier this year and it was magnificent.
Hi Jennifer,
Details of our cinema screenings around the world can be found at http://cinema.roh.org.uk/
Thanks,

I have just signed up to Met on demand where for £9 per month I can enjoy any of the Mets opera library on video and hd on my iPad or computer whoever I want. Why don't you do the same?
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your comment. We don't currently offer a service like this but are looking at ways of allowing our productions to reach an even wider audience. We'll be announcing some exciting news around this very soon.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi,
Is it too late to book for the cinema screenings?
I am new in England, so I just noticed this now, and I would just LOVE to have the opportunity like this.
Is there e.g. any seats for the screening at Empire Leicester Square on Tuesday 23 October 2012 at 19:15??
Thanks!
Hi Ilham,
Not at all - if you'd like to book for individual screenings, you can book through the individual cinema (online or in person).
Hope you enjoy whichever show(s) you decide to come and see!

Hi. Very much enjoyed Carmen last night, but notice that France does not appear on the list of countries in the cinema website list - and it was in France that I saw the screening! So I'm hoping that Egypt also is missing, as I'm hoping to see La Boheme there in January. Might there be showings in Sharm-el-Sheik please?
Hi Dawn
Thanks for your email and glad that you enjoyed Carmen. We've been a little delayed in adding the French screenings to the list and the one that you referred to hadn't been added to the site when you looked. We're hoping to be up to date soon.

We are very excited about the 2012/13 season and we invite everyone that is located in our part of the world to come and watch a live performance with us. For all the latest new & events please follow us on Twitter at @CineworldBolton
Thanks
Fantastic initiative. Wondering how New Zealand and my Christchurch could be added to this list?
We'll ask our Cinema team if there are any plans.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Just seen the amazing performance of "Swan Lake" live at the cinema. Love the performances of Zenaida & (especially) Nehemiah. What a fantastic new production - the costumes of the corps were a departure from the norm & really suited the quite "dark" production & set design. The rehearsal footage & interviews were such a treat as if the performance wasn't enough. I felt transported to another world! Thank you so much Royal Ballet & Opera for this scheme - I'm looking forward to the other live ballets & operas, & hope that this scheme to bring them to a wider audience will continue in the future. There is no way I could afford to see such quality productions at the ROH & this is almost as good as being there!
Saw Swan Lake last night at local cinema for £10 and what an absolute bargain it was!
Quite magnificent!
Dancers and costumes outstanding.
Oh, thankyou, thankyou thankyou, to whom this wonderful innovation came.
24/10/12
Hi Sheena,
may I ask you, how old you are, or whether you are a student or not? I am doing research for my masters thesis on live performance accessibility in relation to cinema, and would like to use your comment as a perfect example for pricing, if you allow. ;)
Thank you. Isabel.
Saw Swan Lake too last night - simply magnificent!!!
THANK YOU!
Will there be a DVD or TV broadcast of this performance? That would be gorgeous!
I loved the Swan Lake but I found the sound quality could be better. There is lack of brillance, as if it were mono instead of stereo.
Sandro v. Hansen Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Saw ROH/Swan Lake at the cinema/live performance on 23/10/12 - just want to thank ALL those responsible for this stunning performance. Have been very fortunate during the last 40 odd years to have been to the Opera House but have never seen a ballet in such detail as I did last Tuesday - the dancing, sets and costumes were all magnificent. Overall a totally mesmerising, enjoyable
experience. Again, THANKYOU!
ps: Please put this performance out as a DVD...
Hi, I have been checking your website for cinema/live performances in France but France never seems to be mentioned on the list of countries screening these performances. Is this a problem with the website or are there no cinemas in France showing your performances this season? It is such an amazing opportunity to see these ballets and operas but those of us here in SW France are feeling neglected!
Hi Jennifer,
We're afraid that the cinemas themselves decide the dates of screenings and so we aren't able to publish details on our site. In future we'll post details of the cities where screenings will happen.
Apologies,
Chris

Saw the live screening of Swan Lake the other week and was absolutely blown away. Please please please release it on DVD! Are there any plans to do this? I would pay any amount!
Fantastic performance of Les Troyens on screen last night. Such professionalism in all the art forms and a wonderful movement through the story line. First time I have seen Les Troyens and enjoyed every moment. Regretful that the audience was so small and the cinema moved it to a smaller screen. Why do people flock to the same old things that they know and miss out on the huge repertoire of grand opera?
Will any of the shows be broadcast with English subtitles?
Hi Alison,
Yes, all opera performances are screened with subtitles.
Thanks,
Chris

Another vote for screenings in Canada, please!
I would love to be able to see these performances in the San Francisco Area of California US. The Nutcracker was awesome. Our local hero Brian Maloney did a fabulous job as Doll 1. Where can we see more of your wonderful performances?
Are these live performances being screened in South Africa?
Hi Joanne,
It's worth checking bag on individual productions regularly as we're always adding new venues and territories.
Thanks,
Chris

Saw LA BOHEME in Hull's Kingswood cinema last night - stupendous! It's such a brilliant, innovative idea (which I'm new to) but I'll keep my eyes on this site to learn of upcoming productions. Thank you for making it worth this old lady turning out on a cold, snowy January night. It was well worth it. Congratulations to all the cast and production team!
Eugene Onegin was just incredible, really powerfully performed and masterfully produced, and seeing it at the cinema was a surprisingly good medium and really drew you in.
I don't suppose you'll be releasing it on DVD? Would love to be able to watch again!
I wouldn't have gone to see 'Tosca' at the ROH on Wednesday had my interest in opera not been awakened by having seen 'La Boheme' and 'Eugene Onegin' at my very comfortable local cinema. I loved them all and while the ROH Amphitheatre seats were a tad lacking in comfort, the wonderful sound and atmosphere made up for it. However, the cinema gives you so much more - I thought the introductory films were a marvellous idea, and close-ups really pulled me into the action. I have already booked for 'Alice' and 'Nabucco' and really looking forward to a wonderful evenings at the cinema. Thank you!
I would love to see 28th March screening of Alice's in Wonderland, but cannot. Given that it is likely to appeal to many children, is it possible to repeat the screening, perhaps in the summer holidays?
Best wishes,
Helen
Very much enjoyed broadcast of Nabucco at the Phoenix in Oxford last night. Liudmyla Monastyrska was outstanding. Disappointed by the programme information supplied - it was almost illegible - far too small a font. Cinema said it was as supplied by ROH. If true, could you please enlarge the font in future. P.S. the "Day Job" was very entertaining.
Hello, my daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed Alice in Wonderland on 28th March this year, and I wondered if it would be released on dvd at any time as we would love to see it again (and again).
Hi,
The DVD is available through the Royal Opera House Shop (http://www.roh.org.uk/products/alice-s-adventures-in-wonderland-dvd-the-royal-ballet). Glad you all enjoyed it!

Hello, Will I be able to see Gloriana in Tampa USA?
Hi Carel,
Sorry, Gloriana won't be relayed to the US. This is due to a decision by the US distributor. The 2013/14 Season broadcasts will however be relayed to cinemas in the US.
Next Season's relays include Turandot, Les Vêpres Siciliennes, Parsifal, Manon Lescaut, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty and The Winter's Tale.
Thanks,
Chris

Dear Chris,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I will be sorry to miss Gloriana. Perhaps the ROH will release this production on DVD? I am on holiday staying with family in Tampa, hence the question about seeing it in the USA.
My friends and I have been to all the ROH performances streamed live to cinemas this season and loved every one of them. Last nights La Donna del Lago was wonderful. We are looking forward to next year already and will hopefully be able to visit Covent Garden for at least one performance.
Yours sincerly,
Carel
