Cast confirmation: Cassandra

Prior to the premiere, dance fans will get rare insight into the rehearsal process and the creation of a new work with Insight event.

Casting has been confirmed for Ludovic Ondiviela's new ballet Cassandra.

The cast includes Lauren Cutherbertson as Cassandra, Gary Avis as the Doctor, Thomas Whitehead as the Lover, former Royal Ballet Principal Mara Galeazzi as the Mother, Yuhui Choe as the Nurse, Paul Kay as the Brother/Nursing Assistant, Romany Pajdak as the Nursing Assistant and Ana Silvera as Ancient Cassandra.

Prior to the performances, Deloitte Ignite audiences will be offered a rare and detailed glimpse into the creation of a new ballet on 9 September at a Cassandra insight event on 9 September.

As well as interviews with the cast and creative team, the event will also allow audiences to watch an in-depth rehearsal with Lauren Cuthbertson and Thomas Whitehead.

Cassandra runs from 30 October-1 November. Tickets are available for both the production and the Insight event. Ana Silvera is generously supported by PRS for Music Foundation.

Deloitte Ignite, curated by The Royal Ballet with the National Gallery's Minna Moore Ede, runs 5–28 September 2014 and includes a wide range of free and paying events. Tickets are still available.
