Hi there. Dumb question from a guy who's never seen this before: is this wordless? I mean, is this a show with no spoken words? I would love to see that.

      Hi Daniel,

Yes, that's correct - the ballet tells the story through dance.

      Hope you enjoy the performance.

      Many thanks,

It's not a dumb question,Daniel. Indeed, it's so good that you're going to this show. It's a wonderful and unique experience. Don't limit yourself to watch the performance, take a walk throughout the theater (restaurants, lobby, etc). It will compliment your experience and you'll enjoy it more.

Thanks to both of you ladies for such fruitful responses. I'll do my best to get to see this show.

Never have I seen as compelling characterisation coupled with dance technique as that displayed by Ryoichi Hirano portraying Leontes when, at the southern most tip of the African continent, we were able this morning to see a screening of one of the Royal Ballet's February performances of "The Winter's Tale". The cinema transported me to another world. The whole ballet was mesmerising. Was the music composed especially for the ballet? It made me feel as though the choreographer and composer had together decided on every note and every movement; there was complete synchrony as jointly they made magic. I can't even imagine what it must have been like to actually be present in the theatre ... like being bewitched
