Booking is now open for TheatreCraft 2014, the backstage careers fair held at the Royal Opera House on Friday 17 October 2014.

TheatreCraft, now in its ninth year, is the essential free event for anyone aged 16 to 25 looking for a non-performance career in theatre. From directing to stage management, producing to marketing, lighting to design; TheatreCraft is the only place to be for a fun and unique glimpse at the behind-the-scenes world of theatre.

More than 1,100 people attended TheatreCraft 2013, which was opened by acclaimed director Jamie Lloyd. Attendees met more than 50 organizations and companies interested in hiring young talent, took part in over 70 workshops delivered by skilled theatre professionals, and visited the ‘Ask the Experts’ zone for one-to-one advice sessions with 33 industry experts. Find out more about TheatreCraft 2013.

Speaking at last year’s event, Jamie Lloyd said; 'It’s ok not to have an idea of what exactly you want to do in theatre or why, it is your passion and drive to be part of the industry that is the most important thing. This vital and important event gives you a chance to explore that passion. So soak it up and make the most of this day. Make it the best day of your life!'

Full programme details will be announced in September 2014. Sign up to the TheatreCraft newsletter for regular updates, or follow @theatrecraft on Twitter.

TheatreCraft is organized by Creative and Cultural Skills, Mousetrap Theatre Projects, the Royal Opera House, Society of London Theatre and Theatre Royal Haymarket Masterclass Trust.
