Student Insight: Taking Shape - Young choreographers in rehearsal

Celebrating Wayne McGregor's 10-year anniversary as Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet, meet the next generation of young choreographers as they rehearse dancers live in the studio.

Featuring contemporary, hip hop and ballet dance styles, join us for this special behind-the-scenes showcase.

As well as watching live rehearsals, hear how the young choreographers got to where they are today, their plans for the future and what inspires them to create dance. The evening will feature:

Charlotte Edmonds, Royal Ballet Young Choreographer and twice winner of the Kenneth MacMillan Senior Choreographic Competition. Hear about her experience working as a young female choreographer at The Royal Ballet and being mentored by Wayne McGregor.

Robert Binet, former Choreographic Apprentice at the Royal Opera House, has choreographed for Studio Wayne McGregor, Hamburg Ballet and National Ballet of Canada to name a few. See his latest work, commissioned by The Royal Ballet, live in rehearsal.

Jamaal Burkmar, winner of the 2015/16 New Adventures Choreographer Award, graduate from the Northern School for Contemporary Dance and currently mentored by Matthew Bourne. See one of his newest contemporary works take shape.

Kloe Dean, hip hop dancer, choreographer and freestyler. She is part of one of the UK's leading street dance companies, Boy Blue Entertainment, leads her own all female dance collective Myself UK Dance and has had her choreography showcased on Channel 4 and Sky 1.
