Engender: Engender Network Launch: Saturday 13 July 2019, 12 noon at Linbury Theatre

Engender

The Royal Opera's inaugural Engender is a weekend of events that put women working in opera at the front and centre.

Venue

Linbury Theatre

Royal Opera House, Bow Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9DD

Season

This event is part of the Summer 2018/19 season.

Background

As part of the Engender weekend, The Royal Opera will launch the Engender Network, an opportunity for women working in or studying for a career in opera to connect in person four times a year. In each of these meetings, hosted by The Royal Opera, a facilitator will lead discussion on issues chosen by participants, and speakers will share their experiences of the industry. It will be a space for makers to meet other makers, for commissioners to connect with artists, and ultimately somewhere for women in opera to come together to discuss the issues that matter to them. At this inaugural session for the Network, participants will be able to set the agenda for the sessions over the upcoming year and put the issues that are most important to them at the centre of the discussion.

The Engender Network is open to all women working in or studying the field of opera. If you would like to find out more information about the Network, or would like to join, please contact us on engendernetwork@roh.org.uk.
