Principal dancer Sarah Lamb presents this screening of The Royal Ballet's performance of Kenneth MacMillan’s tragic masterpiece Manon, broadcast live to cinemas on 3 May 2018, starring herself and Vadim Muntagirov. MacMillan’s choreography demands powerful actors as well as gifted dancers, and Lamb and Muntagirov bring the characters to life, drawing you into their drama. MacMillan’s spectacular ensemble scenes for the whole Company create vivid portraits of Paris and New Orleans. But it is the central couple’s impassioned pas de deux that drive this tragic story and make the ballet one of the most moving ballet dramas of all time.
Please note that Manon contains scenes of an adult nature, including sexual violence.
This production was originally screened live as 12A
The performance lasts about 2 hours 50 minutes, including two intervals
