Engender: Insights: Redressing the balance: Saturday 13 July 2019, 2pm at Linbury Theatre

Engender

The Royal Opera's inaugural Engender is a weekend of events that put women working in opera at the front and centre.

Venue

Linbury Theatre

Royal Opera House, Bow Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9DD

Season

This event is part of the Summer 2018/19 season.

Background

Join Lucy Kerbel, Director of Tonic Theatre, and a panel made up of directors Hazel Gould and Adele Thomas, conductor and repetiteur Susanna Stranders, singer Elaine Mitchener and Director of Opera at Opera Holland Park, James Clutton, as they discuss the state of play for women working in opera today. Are women being supported to make their best work? What are the barriers to women succeeding in the industry? What can companies do to enable and encourage women? This is an opportunity to hear from artists at the top of their game about their experiences.
