Background

Professor Richard Bissill, FGS, FRAM is a horn player, award-winning arranger and composer. From 1984 he served for 33 years as Section Principal Horn of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

As a composer he has written several large-scale commissions for orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra along with numerous concert pieces for various chamber groups. He has also composed for film and TV and is especially well known as a composer and arranger of music for brass.
