Royal Opera House, Bow Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9DD
This event is part of the Winter 2018/19 season.
Liam Scarlett’s new production of Swan Lake was given its premiere last Season by The Royal Ballet. This performance, danced by the cast it was created on and who performed at the premiere, features Marianela Nuñez in the dazzling dual role of Odette/Odile and Vadim Muntagirov as Prince Siegfried, and was broadcast live to cinemas on 12 June 2018. Scarlett’s production remains faithful to the choreography of this much-loved classic, and a refreshed staging features John Macfarlane’s beautiful new sets and costumes. The sublime, symphonic sweep of Tchaikovsky’s score, the beauty of the corps de ballet’s swans and the spectacular choreography for the Principal dancers make Swan Lake one of the best loved and most admired of all classical ballets.
