From 3 December 2018 to 7 January 2019 we celebrate ten years of the Royal Opera House Live Cinema Season with screenings of great operas and ballets.
Royal Opera House, Bow Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2E 9DD
This event is part of the Winter 2018/19 season.
Anthony Dowell’s production of Swan Lake, perhaps the most beloved ballet of all time, features an opulent setting, Tchaikovsky’s famous score, and one of ballet’s biggest challenges for a dancer in the dual role of Odette/Odile. In this Royal Ballet performance, broadcast live to cinemas on 17 March 2015, Natalia Osipova dances the radiant White Swan and the scheming, duplicitous Black Swan. Prince Siegfried is danced by former Royal Ballet Principal Matthew Golding. The ballet is also a breath-taking showcase for the corps de ballet, who fill the stage as the Swans while the ballet builds to its powerful, tragic end.
