Since making the difficult decision to close the Royal Opera House on 16 March 2020 we have been overwhelmed by messages of goodwill. We are deeply appreciative.

These unprecedented circumstances are having an immediate and serious financial impact on charitable organisations such as ours, with almost 80% of our funding coming from audiences: from your ticket purchases, memberships, donations, and from the money you spend in our restaurants, bars and shop.

With this in mind, we have a request:

If you are able, we would like to ask you to please consider making a donation. In doing so you will be helping us continue to do what we’ve been doing since we first opened our doors 287 years ago – with our community of artists and craftspeople, educators and technicians, create inspiring performances and projects for people all over the UK and beyond to enjoy.

We know that so many of you are also supporting other charities and arts organizations – for this and for staying alongside the Royal Opera House at this time – thank you.
