Since making the difficult decision to close the Royal Opera House on 16 March 2020 we have been overwhelmed by messages of goodwill. Thank you so much.
The COVID-19 global crisis is having an immediate and serious impact on charitable arts organisations such as ours. We have lost £3 in every £5 of our income – generating revenue from tickets, retail, catering and events is no longer possible.
With this in mind, here is a message from Antonio Pappano, Music Director of The Royal Opera, and Francesca Hayward, Principal of The Royal Ballet, sharing with you how you can help the Royal Opera House community at this time.
If you are able, please consider making a donation to help sustain our Royal Opera House community.
All online donations will be matched pound for pound by a generous anonymous donor, doubling the value of your gift. We know that so many of you are also supporting other charities and arts organisations – for this and for staying alongside the Royal Opera House at this time – thank you.
