Wagner Circle

The Wagner Circle is a philanthropic initiative for Wagner enthusiasts who would like to deepen their knowledge of Wagner’s operas and our staging of his works.

    An evening in the company of the renowned stage Director of the current Bayreuth Parsifal Stefan Herheim and Director of Opera Kasper Holten, who will discuss the complexities staging a Wagner opera*
  • Friday 15 November 2013
    An afternoon sitzprobe stage rehearsal of Parsifal with the principal cast led by Maestro Antonio Pappano followed by afternoon tea*
  • Monday, 25 November 2013
    An afternoon orchestral rehearsal of Parsifal led by Maestro Pappano followed by an informal reception*
  • Monday 2 December 2013
    An evening around a performance of Parsifal including a pre-performance talk and post-performance party with members of the cast. We have reserved top-price performance tickets for you to purchase*
  • Wednesday 5 March 2014
    An evening with Wagner academic and author Professor John Deathridge, The Royal Opera’s Head of Music David Syrus and two great Wagnerians: soprano Dame Anne Evans and tenor Graham Clark, who will discuss the evolution of Wagner singing. We will also hear musical contributions from soprano Meta Powell and tenor Hubert Francis
  • Thursday 5 June 2014
    A musical evening in a private London home with the legendary American Wagner soprano Deborah Polaski, British soprano Elisabeth Meister and The Royal Opera’s Head of Music David Syrus, to hear how they prepare their Wagner roles
