New Choreography Syndicate

The New Choreography Syndicate is a new philanthropic initiative for individuals interested in the contemporary face of The Royal Ballet. The syndicate offers a small group of supporters the opportunity to become intimately involved with a world premiere created for The Royal Ballet in the 2019-20 season, The Cellist, performed alongside Dances at a Gathering in this mixed programme. The Cellist is a new work by former Associate Artist of the Royal Opera House Cathy Marston. The inspiration for Marston’s first work for The Royal Ballet is the momentous life and career of the cellist Jacqueline du Pré with designs by award winning designer Hildegard Bechtler.

Supporters will gain involvement around this new production and witness moments of the creative journey of the choreographer and creative team from the initial conception, to rehearsals and right through until opening night. Supporters are invited to a variety of events including panel discussions, closed stage rehearsals and evenings around performances with The Royal Ballet. Syndicate supporters are warmly invited to make a philanthropic gift. Involvement may also include private studio rehearsals, private visits to departments, a closer relationship with The Royal Ballet and bespoke involvement.
