The Sitzprobe Circle

Meticulous preparation goes into each stage of any operatic collaboration. The musical and technical components are rehearsed separately before they can converge in stage rehearsals and performances. Sitzprobe is the German term for a seated rehearsal. It needs no lighting, costumes or scenic action. The soloists, chorus (if performing in the opera) and orchestra focus solely on the music, emphasising singing technique, integration and balance, under the direction of the Maestro.

The Sitzprobe Circle provides an exclusive opportunity for philanthropists to deepen their knowledge of this key element of the preparative process. Supporters are invited to make a philanthropic gift and enjoy the thrilling experience of attending these private rehearsals.
