The Contemporary Music Circle is a philanthropic initiative for individuals who are interested in gaining a deeper insight into the inspiration, techniques and experiences of composers writing for opera and ballet.
With a wealth of new music featuring on both the Main Stage and the Linbury Theatre this Season, supporters of the Contemporary Music Circle will enjoy close involvement with some of the leading composers working in opera and ballet today. Support will be directed towards the first staging of Gerald Barry’s Alice’s Adventures Under Ground. As well as this work, the programme of events will reveal the inspiration and process behind new scores by Thomas Adès and Matt Rogers, and a conversation with director Katie Mitchell on how she has worked with composers when staging operas such as George Benjamin’s hit Written on Skin.
