Striking decoration produced by St Nicolas, inspired by the tutu worn by Diana Vere as one of Florestan's Two Sisters in Act III of The Royal Ballet production of 'The Sleeping Beauty' (1946)
Exclusively made for the Royal Opera House.
Each decoration is hand made and beaded by a family run business in India using a traditional embroidery method called zardozi. Zari-embroidery originated in Persia and reached India in the 12th Century. Traditionally using gold wires to decorate courtly robes and heraldic emblems, the highly skilled technique means ‘sewing with gold.
