Beginning in 1954, and continuing over the next twenty-five years, principals, soloists, and corps of the New York City Ballet travelled to the television studios of Radio-Canada in Montreal to present core works of their repertoire, under the guidance of the company's Artistic Director and co-founder George Balanchine. This second volume in VAI's series features three major ballets by Balanchine, plus an extended excerpt from his version of The Nutcracker, which was the first full-length ballet to enter NYCB's repertoire during the company's fledgling years. Balanchine himself is on hand to introduce Agon, a work he and Igor Stravinsky created for NYCB in 1957.
