Young Creatives

YDE Young Creatives is an annual programme which gives 15-19 year olds from across the country the opportunity to develop their choreographic work with highly experienced, professional choreographers.

Background

YDE Young Creatives 2013

Youth Dance England (YDE), in partnership with Royal Opera House and The Royal Ballet School, is proud to present the fifth annual YDE Young Creatives performance at the Linbury Studio Theatre on 17th May 2013. The performance will premiere 12 new works in a variety of dance styles created by the 12 young choreographers selected to take part in the programme.

Each year, YDE Young Creatives aims to support young choreographers aged 15-19 to improve their skills and understanding of choreography and create a new dance piece. The programme includes a Skills Boosting Weekend where the participants improve their understanding of the choreographic process; a three-month mentoring period where they work with professional choreographers on their new work; and a four-day residential at The Royal Ballet School’s White Lodge spent taking workshops and working with their peers and experienced professionals to refine their piece.

Come and see the choreographers of tomorrow premiere their new work in the Linbury Studio Theatre on 17th May! Traditionally praised for its refreshing creativity and high standards, this one-off opportunity to see this collection of work is too good to miss!
