With One Voice

Award-winning arts and homeless charity Streetwise Opera showcase the artistic skills of people who have experienced homelessness.

Background

The Paul Hamlyn Hall and the Crush Room at the Royal Opera House will be transformed into stages where the audience can enjoy choral singing, opera and theatre performances, as well as poetry and film. This one-night festival is presented by Streetwise Opera and celebrates the work of performers from all over the UK and abroad who have experienced homelessness.

With One Voice is inspired by the work of Andrew Barnett (Director of the UK Branch of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation) and Jenny Edwards (formerly of Homeless Link) who wanted to ensure homeless people were involved at the heart of London 2012 – the first time that this has happened in Olympic history.
