The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

30 December 2016—22 January 2017

ZooNation’s fabulous show – a gleefully off-the-wall take on the madcap characters of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland – is reimagined for the unique space of the Roundhouse.

When to see it

The patients at Ladrington Brook - the Institution for Extremely Normal Behaviour, all claim to come from a place called Wonderland. Their new doctor, Ernest, interrupts their never-ending tea party to insist on a ‘T for Therapy’

ZooNation creates irresistible narrative hip hop dance theatre. The company has won nationwide acclaim with its hugely popular shows, including Into the Hoods and Some Like It Hip Hop. Playfully drawing on everything from Shakespeare to Sondheim, Artistic Director Kate Prince and her company present brilliantly exuberant dance adventures overflowing with energy and wit.

Following their sell-out run at the Royal Opera House in 2014, ZooNation reimagine this dance adventure for the unique space of the Roundhouse, using their exuberant and accessible style to explore Lewis Carroll’s original story in a 21st-century way. The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party brings together regular ZooNation collaborators Ben Stones, with his innovative and colourful set designs, and the musical team Josh Cohen and DJ Walde. Suitable for all ages, this production is the perfect family treat or alternative night out.

As The Telegraph commented, ‘You’d be mad to miss this party!’.
